Policy Advocacy

RefugeeOne believes in safeguarding legal rights, privileges, and protections of refugees. We work with policymakers, business leaders, educators, and faith-based organizations to reform legislation and promote policies that welcome newcomers to the U.S. and set them up for success.

Together, our advocacy can change the lives of refugees who have already arrived in the U.S. and those still hoping to find safety and a brighter future here.

Biden: Protect All Afghans Seeking Safety and Protection

Given President Biden’s 8/31 deadline to complete withdrawal from the country, at-risk Afghans, U.S. citizens, and legal permanent residents will be left behind, prevented from accessing life-saving services. Urgent action is needed to hold the administration accountable to:
  1. Establish safe pathways out of Afghanistan and continue urgent evacuation of Afghans in danger for as long as it takes to get people to safety in the U.S.
  2. Provide international aid for humanitarian response
  3. Offer Temporary Protected Status for Afghans in the U.S.
  4. Halt deportations for all Afghans from the U.S.
