Second City Alum
The son and grandson of Cuban refugees, Eddie is an actor, writer, and Emmy award-winning producer based in L.A. He traveled the country with The Second City Touring Company, is an alum of their e.t.c. stage, and co-founded iO Chicago's long-running Spanish improv show Heraldo.
Melineh has been with RefugeeOne since 1985, one year after she was resettled as an Armenian refugee from Iran. She became executive director in 2013. Knowing the refugee experience herself, she is passionate about lighting the path forward for others from around the world.
Host of WBEZ Worldview
Jerome is host of WBEZ's Worldview, a weekday global affairs program that features in-depth conversations about international issues and their local impact. Jerome believes broadcasting's highest calling is to bring people together to make a difference.

At the event, you'll meet Ali, Halima, Mohammed, Miriam, and Ousseni - five courageous refugees and asylees who are on the path to U.S. citizenship. Their journeys have brought them to Chicago from Iran, Somalia, Burma, and Togo. Today, they are proud to be U.S. Americans.
